SNOW DAY!!!!!
February 9, 2017
I love my kids. I REEEEAAAALLLYYY LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEE my kids. I love spending time with them, but I also love my Thursdays...A LOT. So I'd like to thank this snow day for keeping them home on my work from home Thursday. ALL OF THEM!!! Oh, and thanks to my husband who had to go into the office today. He had the audacity to text and ask if anyone missed him. Uhhh...no, because you went to work on purpose. I digress.
Thursdays is my day to drop off at 8am and pick up at 5pm. The 8 hours in between are MINE!!!! I had plans:
I'd skip breakfast and have Frosted Flakes for lunch and Doritos as a snack. With the girls being home, though, I now have really think about meals because they want to eat. They're going to want more than junk food. Well, maybe not but I'm going to have to feed them more than just junk food.
I was going to catch up on The Blacklist, during my lunch hour, and watch episode 3 of The New Edition Story with no interruptions. Now, I'll spend the day watching Doc McStuffins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
I'd sing Poison, My Prerogative and Can You Stand The Rain, at the top of my lungs and throw my panties at the TV while screaming Ralph's name (ok, maybe not that last part). Instead all I hear is a toddler screaming "Alexa, sing the Paw Patrol theme song."
I might have taken a quick power nap but they've taken over my bed so that won't be happening.
I would have enjoyed a nice long shower but instead it's going to have to be a quick 5 minute splash since at least one of them wants to have a conversation with me while I'm in the bathroom.
Instead of sitting comfortably at my computer cranking out emails, I'll have to crank my neck around the toddler who is adamant about sitting on my lap as I work.
Instead of enjoying peace and quiet, I'll spend most of the day breaking up fights and trying to pretend that I can't hear them when they're calling "Mommy!!!, Mom!!!, Ma!!!."
I swear, they are my everything, but I really do enjoy my Thursdays. Can't wait until next week.
